I've been wanting to try this technique of watercolors and ink on wood for a while now and this just felt like the perfect subject.  Kind of interesting.

I don't actually like iced tea, but it felt like an iced tea kind of day today, just the right temperature with tons of sunshine.  All I wanted to do was lay down in the middle of the lawn but I had to settle for drawing that scene instead.

I'm a day late posting this, but here's my drawing for Trail Day yesterday.

National Doughnut Day!!

What an awesome holiday!  So today I've done a loose watercolor/drawing of my dad and I going to get the best doughnuts in all of Santee, CA and probably the world...apple fritters from Mary's Doughnuts.  It's a bit of a different style for me and I think I like it. :)

You might be thinking I'm exaggerating the size of the fritter but I'm not, they're that big!! :)  And in case you think the expression on my face might be a tad exaggerated, it's not even exaggerated enough.  This is me:

Mr Toad has found a new obsession and of course Mole and Ratty join him on his first voyage.  Badger was sensible enough to keep all four paws on the ground.

Next I painted the background:

Now I just need to do the characters and put it all together.  For that, you'll have to check in a little later ;)

National Go Barefoot Day!

I wanted to draw a scene where you wouldn't expect to see everyone barefoot so i decided on a busy city sidewalk.
Then I went out and celebrated the day :)
